Concerned about possible opportunities for logistics disruption, on the one hand, and distortion of the market, on the other, with the entry into force, next July, of the requirement for shippers of informing the carrier in advance about the noted weight of containers to be boarded, the ESPO, European Sea Ports Organisation, joined the European organizations representing shipowners, shippers and port operators, in demanding from their national authorities a coordinated deployment as coordinated as possible to avoid these dangers and ensuring also, simultaneously, a perfect equality of treatment and situation in all circumstances.
